María Pilar de Acedo y Sarria, Marchioness of Montehermoso, lived six years of a happy romance, with her husband’s consent, filled with art, culture, projects, and dreams, with King Joseph Bonaparte. In June 1813, during the Battle of Vitoria, when allied forces (British, Portuguese, and Spanish) clashed with the French, the Marchioness became a tragic figure. After deep reflection, she took that leap into the void that characterizes so many fictional or real-life characters.

The music is composed with the aforementioned literary pretext and can be classified as a Fantasy, where the clarinet takes the lead voice with a melody reminiscent of characteristic Baroque turns in a calm Tempo, Romantic harmony, and classical orchestration. The timbral contribution of the guitar gives the piece a special sense of tranquility.

As for the title, it alludes to the silence or limited recognition that this important figure has received, despite her almost certain substantial influence on some of the events shaping Spain during that era.
