Description

This work was published with the collaboration of the Department of Culture of the Basque Government.

Angelus is an orchestration by Jaume Santonja (Bocairent, 1986) based on the work of the same title by composer Josu Elberdin (Pasaia, 1976), originally written for treble choir and piano.

This publication is part of an editorial project focused on orchestrating works for treble choir from the CM Ediciones catalog. The aim is to provide orchestras with high-quality symphonic choral repertoire for children, which is currently very scarce, and to make these works attractive for their programming.

In adapting these works to an orchestral format, the original structure has been preserved to allow choirs to perform them both in their orchestral version and in the original version with piano accompaniment. Santonja presents in this collection some moving orchestrations that, with a sweet and enveloping style, support and enhance the original choral works.
